The locations look stunning, the action sequences so far have been compelling, and the performances have been compelling
I certainly didn’t have Eddie Redmayne as The Jackal on my streaming series bingo card for this year, but here it is. It’s great to see a classic novel so lavishly staged and it all works really well as far as I’m concerned.
On the other hand, it’s always nice to see Charles Dance flex his acting muscles
Like other reviewers, I don’t buy Lashana Lynch as an MI:6 agent and feel she was poorly cast in the role. Úrsula Corberó is lovely to watch on screen, although I fear she’s been a bit underused.
Otherwise, a fine piece of old-school entertainment
