James Gunn pitched ‘CREATURE COMMANDOS’ before taking over DC
Plot
It follows a group of military superhumans consisting of a human leader, a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and a gorgon. Gunn himself then greenlit the project when he became CEO of DC Studios. Series writer and creator James Gunn appears in the opening credits with a laptop writing a script.

. Featured in Crazy Cartoon Cast of AniMat: The Return of the King (of the Hill) (2023). I’ve always loved the DC universe, and while I think the DCEU was overly hated, I’ve been very disappointed with a few of the DCEU projects.
This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative
I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and TV have become too generic, that’s the key. Their superhero movies have been so much in the last decade that when people see a new one coming out, they don’t go to the theaters because they think “yet another superhero movie, babe, there’s been too many” because they’re all the same, just a generic action movie (Especially the sequels). I think James Gunn is really going to turn things around and I can’t wait for that.

I also think that since Marvel is so much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters that have been overlooked (by the fans) and I think if everything at DC works out over the next few years then lesser known characters can do well at the box office as long as they can grab people’s attention and really have a special feel to them.
