As the world teeters on the brink of annihilation, Dietrich Bonhoeffer joins a deadly plot to assassinate Hitler, risking his faith and fate to save millions of Jews from genocide.. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was accused of being involved in the 20 July plot to assassinate Hitler, depicted in the film Walkiria (2008), after Hans von Dohnanyi was accused of being the "spiritual leader" of the attempt. There is no evidence that either man was involved in that particular event and was just pretense to eliminate both.. Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved -indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be brushed aside as trivial exceptions.. I love Angel studios productions. But this was strenuous to keep up with, the bouncing back and forth in time was difficult to follow, and truthfully I fell asleep several times. I wanted to like it, but just couldn't recommend this one. I did not previously know this person, and this movie did not help me understand his importance to history. Scattered, broken, no continuity. It would leave your head spinning but so slow its all you can do not to nod off. Acting was good, characters believable, but the storyline was just too broken. Too hard to keep up with. Not enough reasons to understand and care about the main character.
